The Colossus: His Imperial Majesty King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi

The Colossus : His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi 51st Ooni of Ife

Coming across this news that has gone so viral on many media outlet, about The Royal Traditional Council of Ile-Ife, Osun State announcing the immediate suspension of Chief Ramon Adedoyin, as the Maye of Ile-Ife over a trending Yoruba Poem, or chant, ‘Ewi’ on the Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi which was released in other to defame the stool and character of the frontline monarch.
After personally listening to the Ewi and reading so many account of what actually transpired here. I had no other choice but I came to the conclusion that, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is a creative "Colossus"
What does colossus mean
1. a statue that is much bigger than life size.
*2.  a person or thing of enormous size, importance, or ability.
Jusr like "the Russian Empire was the colossus of European politics"
* I have come to the conclusion that Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is a creative colossus of the Yoruba race. He is a  person of enormous size, a person bigger than life size.
* Because of this simple fact people try to pull him down so he won't achieve his God given goal.
*
If you take time to listen to the video attached to this article, this video gives an account of what exactly happen to colossal. This video even though in Yoruba language but subtitled in English explains that people try as much as possible to pull great people down so as to waste their time and thereby stopping them from achieving their God given goal.
My take on this defamation of the character of His Imperial Majesty by Chief Ramon Adedoyin is embedded in the video attached to this write up, for the benefit of those that do not understand or speak the Yoruba language you can read the translation of the video below :

To His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi
('Ija ilara ko tan boro')

'There are some battles you don't need to take your time fighting.
Battles like hatred, pride and prejudice from the people you so much desire, and are one way or the other attached to your destiny.
It is only God that can fight your battles for you.
Spend your time only on what you can change.
Don't waste your time on what you can't change.
If anyone has an evil thought towards you, about your acts or actions or character.
Make effort to let him know the truth about you, if you can.
But if you cannot never mind what anyone says against you, so long as your conscience is clear and you are following your good instinct, and you're not planning evil towards your fellow men, It  is their own biz wax or problems.
Do not waste your time settling grievances with people.
For some will never want to be at peace with you, no matter how much you make them to understand you by explaining yourself.
Remember most of these false accusations against you are used as delay tactics to waste your time so you don't achieve your God given goals.
King Ogunwusi, please do not waste your time defending yourself against all these false accusations.
Because no matter what you say, and try to explain yourself to them, those that will hate you will still hate you, and funny enough those that loves you will continue to love you and remain loyal to you.
Understand that your, clarifications or explanations will not be welcomed and believed by everyone, or share the same opinion with you.
Do not expect to be praised by everyone, because your time is limited and your destiny , your career and future are tied to the time that God has made available for you to spend on earth.
Your good deeds, smartness, kindness, hospitability, and generosity does not have any impact on those that hate you.
So therefore, use your time according to how your discerning instinct or mind directs you.
As long as you're on the right path and you're doing the right thing.
Have it at the back of your mind that your time does not tally with other people's time. And your destiny does not tally with other people's destiny.
Therefore you cannot dance to other people's tune.
This is why you have to spend your time and your destiny in joy, happiness, upliftments and with peace of mind.
Your time is valuable to you my king.
Do not toy with your time or allow people to tamper with your destiny , by dancing to there tune in trying to please them.
Do not toy with your time, or allow people to toy with your God given destiny and earthly assignments . Because you have a great destiny, a destiny that is  greater than that of those people trying to stop you by saying negative things about you, in other to pull you down.
Do not waste your time on what does not concern you, or what people are saying about you, or try to change what people are thinking about you.
Do not waste your time settling grievances with people .
Do not allow people to waste your time and hinder you, from achieving that goal, that God given great destiny, that God has destined for you and that which distinguishes  you from others.

But rather set your face like a flint and don't be perplexed about the negative things people are saying to pull you down, but rather lets focus on the positive things you have achieved and you will further  achieve on this throne of your ancestors that God has ordained for you.

To the best of my knowledge, below are the roll call of some of your achievements since you were coronated as a king, this is just to mention a few.

Keeping your mind on things that are pure and positive, while setting your face like some flint, is the only way you can remain focused on your our God given goals.

The roll call of achievements are as follows

-Olokun park Scheme 1 & 2, an estate of 500 housing units of different categories along Ibadan road Ile-Ife in the state of Osun that will shelter hundreds of youths.

-Multi-billion naira Ife Grand Resort and Leisure outfit which is presently an ongoing project, and will be formally comissioned in March 2018.

-N60 million “Olofin Adimula” intercity mass transit geared towards reducing cost of transportation.

-One Million Cocoa Trees Nursery For Youth Empowerment, a development which is the first of its kind in Nigeria, with a view to creating jobs for 100,000 youths and the thousands of widows who are victims of the settled communal war between Ife and Modakeke some years ago.

-Hectares of cashew plantation in Ogudu, Ile-Ife, Osun State in conjunction with Osun state government and Federal ministry of Agriculture.

-First Ife Youth Agro-entrepreneurship Summit, in Partnership with BOI To Train 150 Youths On Agro-Processing. Ojaja II Musical Talent Hunt and Concert, A unique talent hunt aimed at showcasing authentic tribal music with the aim of bringing forward the latent talent of young Nigerians.

-Erecting a Moremi Statue in Ile- Ife: A Symbol of Yoruba Aesthetics, Standing at 45 feet and the third tallest statue in Africa, Moremi’s statue of liberty was erected locally by 200 youths and all the materials used were sourced locally from the 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

-Ooni’s visits to other Obas in and outside the country to show his humility and the need for peace and unity amongst the black people.

-Developmental projects he embarked on that even the blind will know Ife is no longer the same.
-Various youth empowerment that includes Queen Moremi Ajasoro beauty pageant to mention a few.

-what about Upholding traditional values and promoting that rich African cultural heritage across the whole nation and in diaspora like you've never seen before.
-What about King Ogunwusi offering scholarships to indigenous students from Nigeria to study abroad, like i witnessed this in person  as I was physically present when he signed a contract with Institute of African Studies of University of Oxford, to offer scholarships to indigenous Nigerian students to study at Masters level.

-What about King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi meeting with every visitor that comes his way, without showing any pride or prejudice to anyone, both at home and in diaspora
-What about Unifying the Yoruba race
What about the fact that King Ogunwusi even though he was trained as an accountant before becoming a bank director, founding a beach resort in Lagos and spearheading a range of real estate ventures. He suspended his life , his career, before he became king, just for the service of humanity.
What about developing Ife into a tourist destination with an initial investment of $20m leveraging on his experience.
This is a King whose the name Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi seems to be synonymous with Real Estate. His prowess and strides in this industry are simply immeasurable.

What about the process of searching for international partners and funding for the various scheme he embarks upon which will include the renovation of heritage sites and the carbon dating of artefacts.
-What about King Adeyeye Ogunwusi the Apostle of peace across the nation, believing that Without peace, there can never be progress. Believing in the fact that It's better to stretch your hand of fellowship. For him it's very critical. for him to be known for a peace movement
-What about the fact that The Ooni of Ife Oba Ogunwusi is eager to explain another of his goals: to unify Nigeria's Yoruba ethnic group.
Since becoming king, he has visited the traditional ruler of Oyo State, breaking a battle of supremacy between the thrones, which spanned nearly eight decades. He says his focus on development was at the heart of this decision.
-What about the fact that His Imperial Majesty has suspended his life in service of others, or how can you explain a young and upwardly mobile and most eligible bachelor who he sits surrounded by attendants, seemingly isolated by the uniqueness of his position, knowing fully well that his new life is perhaps lonely.
But yet never admitting the new life he has found himself : can't be lonely because he believes he is has been called by God and he is on a mission."
-What about the fact that he is patient attending to Visitors who stream in - businessmen and politicians, old people and children. A long line of blind children enter the hall, taking a seat behind rows of gilt rococo style armchairs. Other guests kneel or prostrate themselves on the plush purple carpet, almost every day.
Come on this is his typical day; waking up at between 7 and 9am before praying and then calling his secretary to go through the day's appointments.
This is a 42-year-old former businessman whose life has been transformed immensely since he became king.
According to His Imperial Majesty and I quote him, he says: "It's pretty difficult. It's a different life I'm living and I'm getting used to it. I don't have privacy any longer. It's 100 percent a life of service. I can't just say, I want to go to this place or go to that place."
This is a king whose governance extends predominantly to cultural matters and although his word is persuasive, it's not law in the political sense, as a King " he cannot enforce any political power, his sphere of influence is cultural. He represents the spiritual side,"
This is a King whose influence is widely recognised among the Yoruba people.
This is just to mention a few of his achievements since he ascended the throne of Oduduwa.
I've not been able to travel back to Nigeria since 2003 that I came to United Kingdom. But I was told by many that Ile-Ife has now been transformed to a tourist centre of attractions. In such a way that I'm looking foward to visit this ancient historic town anytime I navigate my way back to Nigeria.
Please let's focus on these positive achievements, that supersede all these negative attributes apportioned to tarnish the image of his imperial majesty.  Lets give it up to 'The Colossus ' His Imperial Majesty King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi The Oonirisha of the source in Ile Ife.
May your reign be long, 'ki ade pe lori, ki bata pe lese,  ki ase pe lenu,  ki irukere pe lowo"
'Ojaja II afidi gbogbo ote Jale'.
